You may want to join a Medicare Part D plan to get drug coverage. Each plan can vary in cost and drugs covered.
Medicare Part D Plan
Things to consider
- You’ll pay a separate monthly premium for a Medicare Part D Drug Plan in addition to the monthly Part B (Medical Insurance) premium you pay Medicare.
- If you don’t get Medicare drug coverage when you’re first eligible (and you don’t have other creditable drug coverage), you’ll have to pay a lifetime penalty to get it later. You may also have to wait to enroll.
